Aftermarket projector headlight

I have an 04 and am looking to do a headlight upgrade - hoping to get some HIDs in there to help when Im on dark snowy roads.

I understand that putting HIDs in the stock reflector housings is probably a bad idea, although AlexJet has done it and had good results. I know the true solution to this is to do a complete retrofit. Honestly though, I do not have the time to do this. If someone out there is good at it, has time, and wants to make a buck, by all means send me a PM. The other thing is that I live in Sothern California, so its not like Im constantly needing this.

SOoo... As far as my easy lighting upgrades go, I have 2 ideas.

A) Stock headlights from an 06+, fitted with some HID's

B) These aftermarket projector headlights, fitted with HIDs. I know these look kinda ricey, but I think they wouldnt look too bad on my black 4runner.

I know that both of these were designed to take Halogen bulbs, but with HIDs would they still be better than my bone stock reflector setup?
Im just looking for a quick & cheap upgrade that will give me a tad more performance than my current stock setup. If I go with the the aftermarket housings it would be an appearance upgrade for me as well.

you want to buy mine?:D I got so addicted to retrofitting I want to do another set. Or you could probably do your own retro, it actually doesnt take that much effort. I must be spent close to 40 hours on entire project not including countless hours of research but I'm anal and must be tested everything 10 times over
My lights are VERY bright particulary with 55 watt ballast & Phillips 85122+ which are pretty much brightest bulb a money can buy. They do run somewhat yellow but I'm after performance rather than looks. I must be pushing close to 10,000 lumens with my HID fogs on, opposed to around 2,000 with stock lights. Color modding added a nice touch to appearance. TSX projectors with clear lenses unmatched when it comes to looks (color flicker) however they not brightest or widest as opposed to S2K (pricey and rare!) or LS430. Huge improvement over stock. And yes, you right, throwing HID in reflector housing is a bad idea. Some may report "good" results but in reality its plain dangerous due to insane amount of glare you will cause for incoming traffic. You can see these fellas miles away and you know they running HIDs in reflector housing.
Not sure how much 06+ headlights are but I imagine its atleast $400 with new bottom trim peaces. They better than reflector lights but as you said they not design for HIDs and when compared to best of the best performers like TL, TSX, S2K or LS430 they dont stand a chance. I thought 04 T4R had good lights (had Sylvania Ultras before) from factory till I did retro. I do a lot of night driving in a deer country and good lights are must for me, I was thinking about retro before I even bought the truck, dont think I can ever look back.
This is running 35 watt ballast

well, my g35 uses hid and it is not the projector type... you just need to aim the light a little bit downward...

there is such a thing as factory HIDs in reflector housing (ex. 2002 Acura TL) but those reflectors designed just for that. They use special bulbs (D2R) and dont create glare. Throwing HID kit in halogen lights generally a bad idea
