I'm not going to single any company/retailer out but I've noticed a few quasi-shady "deals" and one in particular irks me.
I've been waiting to purchase Icon stage 2 since I bought my 14 TE in Sept. I knew the BF/CM deals were coming. I paid attention to the pre-sale prices on several websites. The other day, I noticed one of the retailers increased their cost by around $100. I thought it was weird since since their prices were usually within $20 of the advertised prices elsewhere for the same lift. Tonight, the coupons go active and I noticed that the same retailer offers a higher discount percentage coupon than the other retailer that had the lower price to begin with.
The prices still end up being within $30 of each other after the coupons. For anyone that was paying attention though, it might sour them on a purchase since it looks shady.
Why play those games? The initial price was fair to begin with, compared to other retailers selling the same kit. Don't jack up your prices so you can offer a "higher discount." I understand retail is retail and it can be hard for a 3rd party retailer to distinguish themselves from another store but come on... earn business based on after-purchase support, customer service, etc.
