Ahh.. Sport Bumper Trim..??

Would you get it? I think it looks real good.. but I think I heard they break easily?? What's ya'lls opinion on it??
Anyone have a picture of a black one with it?

Don't mess with your nice rig, Sport Bumper Trim is big waste of money. I'm saving up for an ARB bumper which should come out in a year.

save your money...check this thread out......if you decide later that you don't like it you'll end up with some holes in the bumper:(
 
If you want something that will look even better than the Sport Bumper trim but don't want to replace your entire bumper try something like a Bull Bar from T&H. Here's a picture of what it would look like.

I posted a bunch of links about different bull bars. Especially a lot about the T&H because I love them. Click HERE to go to that thread. The sport bumper trim is still in the running for me, because I have a hookup where I would pay a lot less than the ~$500 it goes for. I'm still trying to make up my mind.
 
get a real guard like the T&H bar that I and some others have. sport bumper is a waste of money IMO, even if you can get it for cheaper. (no offense luxury) :)
 
im waiting for some decent front end damage so i can replace my sport bumper and front fascia and have them put on a clean bumper and then install a real bumper guard or grille. save your money for a real one.
 
To be honest, I like the look of the bumper on my sport. I knew it wasn't strong when I got it, but I just wanted something that would protect me from the parallel parking. If you want something that is strong, don't get it. I am afraid to sit on it!! The way it looks is your preference though.
 
I was looking around when I came across this. Westin just released their Ultimate Bull Bar for the 03-Up 4Runner if you're looking for something completely different. It comes with the Skid Plate.

How did you decide between these two or did you not know about the Westin when you ordered?
 
I didn't know about the Westin one until today. But, had I known I think I still would have went for the T&H one. It's a much clear look without what appears to be plastic holders for the middle bar. Also, I wasn't looking for a skid plate to cover most of the bottom of it. Another note, the Westin one is 2.5" thick.

I think the Westin one would look much better on Domestic trucks. (IMHO)
 
i agree with noloc....i was looking for westin one when i first bought my truck but NO companies made bull bars for 4runner when i bougth mine. after a few months....t&h came out with theirs and i'm loving it!
 
I agree with the two of you. That black part makes the decision quite a bit easier. Plus, we don't have a pic with it on a runner yet, and that is an important factor too. But I do like it more than some of the other options I have seen around here.
 
Well, first I am waiting to see how cheap I can get the sport bumper trim. Second I am trying to ration some money for the runner. Hopefully, I will make a decision soon. Now that we have seemed to have ruled out the airbag interference issue, the only real negative I can see for the T&H is the weight as opposed to the sport. Since I am going towards more true chrome accessories, it doesn't really make since to get the sport bumper trim. I think I just talked myself through it. Looks like T&H it is, when I can dedicate some money.
 
I was worried about the weight of the T&H Bull Bar adversely affecting the driving characteristics of my 4Runner. Did you notice any changes? I went aheaded and ordered it anyway b/c I liked the look.
