Ahhh crap. P0420 and P0755

Went wheelin' a little bit today. Driving through a few mud pits, my Check Engine, VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights came on like x-mas lights.

P0420, as we all know, is "catalyst system efficiency below threshold"
P0755, according to my code reader is "shift solenoid B malfunction SSVSL2"


I haven't reset the codes, because I'd like to look deeper into it with the Toughbook and I don't wanna lose all my data.

What do you guys think? A little water? Hit a rock?:lookout:

Would not be a big deal for ya I don't think, Techstream FTW
 
Given that they are separate harnesses--one on tranny and one on exhaust--I'm thinking water in your connectors is a better bet than the rocks. Both would be tough for a rock to hit without ripping out tranny or exhaust. Give her a few days to dry out and reset. Then climb under and check your harnesses if the codes come back; fix if broken and clean connectors if not. Just one suggested approach...

Is it shifting without any problem? ECU sets P0755 when speed sensor shows car is in a different gear than the ECU asked the tranny to set. (2 trip detection).

The first shift back on dry pavement was a little odd, like it couldn't decide what gear it wanted, but that was it. It's shifted normal the whole rest of the drive.
 
I had a P0755, I was on the way home from a road trip at the time, I had my OTC Pegasys with me so I pulled the code, I didn't clear it so I could look into it more when I got home. It ended up clearing itself on the way back :D

Might be time for a reset right now, then. Once you are done playing with the data...I bet it's already cured.
 
If it makes you feel any better, Had the P0420 up three weeks ago, replaced the gaskets around the cat as they were leaky. CEL goes away for a week, then blow up again last week, now with the rear O2 sensor. Replaced that, friday, hit a bump on the beach on sunday, and the CEL is back on. wouldn't be suprised if it was the cat. so much the tundra brake upgrade.
 
wellll....the freeze frame data wasn't very useful at all, so I cleared the codes. So far trekked about 20 miles and no lights yet...
