air bags installed but ?

just got the air bags installed by a shop here in San Diego.
I will never got back to that shop again.
paid $150 and took them over 3 hours to finish. Also I told them not to drill any holes and still they did WTF!!

only ? I have now it what can I do about the noise I hear when going over bumps.
I know its from the air bags but can I spray wd40 or something.

What noise are you hearing?? Mine are quiet with no squeeks or other noise of any kind. I run mine down around 5lbs when not towing and at about 15lbs when towing. I hear no bag/spring related noises either way.

Are yours the red Airlift bags or some other brand?

I have the Red bags (air lift 1000)
I notice when I go over speed bump I hear some sort of squeak and its loud that if a person was there. they would hear it loud and clear.
with no load its at 5psi. didn't try it was any load yet but will do soon.

man I tell you some shops are just BS
what do you think I should do?

My guess is it may just be a break in thing that will go away when the bags settle in properly with the springs. Try pumping them up to 20lbs and then drop them back to 5lbs to be sure they are seated properly. If they still squeek then I would try spraying the contact points with a silicon lubricant to see if they quiet down.

The Airlift 1000 bags are the same ones I am running.

No, I didn't spray mine at all. They were quiet from the begining. I don't know if makes any difference but I also am running the OME suspension so I have OME rear springs, not the stock Toyota's.

Take a look and be sure they cut the rubber bump stop (cone shaped) off at the last segment. The stop is on the inside of the coil spring, at the top. When installing the air bags they should have cut that rubber bump stop back so that only about 1" of rubber is left and the bag sits up against that on the top.

I know that the bump stop should be cut/removed but didn't check that. I will take a look soon. what a pain cuz with the bags installed. its hard to see the bump stop.

True, but if they didn't cut off then I bet it would be obvious. If the bag looks flush with the top then they probably cut off the bump stop.

if its any thing like my s10 you have to break in the bags. my air lift 2b6 bags were stiff. u may also have 2 much air in the bags 2.

running 5psi (read my post) it doesn't make sense that I need to break it in. Had it for a week now and still the same which was why I posted my ?

not to sure what you mean but they are air bags so guess it would be called helper bags as well?

well air bags can be installed to help level the ride or like on my s10 they are used to set the frame on the ground.
