Air Box Boot

Happy New Years!

Quick question... mechanic tells me that i need to replace the Intake Air Boot, but I can't find this part. So I call back and he says it's the Air Box Boot, located between the Throttle Body and and Air Box.

Are these the same parts just a different name? Is it the Air Intake Hose?

The truck has a rough idle and is rather sluggish. According to them this "boot" will remedy this.

its the same part- the long plastic hose that goes from the box on the left side of truck where your air filter is across radiator top to throttle body. You can change it yourself with a screwdriver to undo the clamps- spray with rust penetrant first if old and rusty. Then just rplace with new part. The only reason to replace this is if it is cracked or broken. This could create a rough idle, but I doubt it would make the truck "sluggish." If its cracked, it needs to be replaced or repaired with some kind of gunk you will select yourself to make it airtight.

you could just do the the ISR mod (intake silencer removal) and be done with that garbage intake system. check it out here

yup if you check out the pics from the link you can see peoples different methods of dealing with that. its just a matter of getting some threaded hose fittings etc.
