Air conditioner filter

I've replace my air conditioner filter yesterday at 19k miles. My concern is that when I push the recycle button, the cover for the air conditioner filer closes and when I pust the recyle again the cover doesn't retract. Is this normal? or should I have the dealer take a look. Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Are you refrring to the in-cabin filter?

Could you be more specific? The recycle button does not really need to be touched as it controlled automatically. However, if one does push it there is nothing visual that moves. Only a vacuum operated door inside the dash will switch from cabin air to outside air. No cover for the HVAC filter itself moves.

Cabin Filter

Yes, it's the in-cabin filter. It's an 04 Sport Edition. It's behind the glove compartment and the filter locate just below it. When I replaced the filter and I was just wondering what would happen when I push the recycle button. I notice the cover for filter closes and when I push the recycle button again, the cover didn't retract upward. Wasn't sure if its a mechanic defect or its normal. Please research and let me know. Thank you for you time and effort.

Ok, I'll have a look and get back to you. I also have the 04 Sport and replace my in-cabin filters every 5000miles. I have never observed what happens with the recycle button on and the affect on the cover.
