air deflector question?

I'd like to know as well. It would be nice if the factory deflector that pops up didn't have those holes in it. I think most of the noise is from air whisping through those opennings.
I've got one and think it helps reduce the turbulence and loud noise a bit.
Some folks have expressed some concerns: after a rain its possible for water to collect under the deflector and if one opened the sunroof then water could come in, and also there was discussion of the small mounting hardware on deflectors in general can wear the paint down in the area where the deflector attaches.
So as with all things YMMV but I think its worthwhile...

I took mine off because it gets dirty under it and hard to clean without taking it off, so kept it off. I didn't think I needed it.

There was one on my 4Runner when I bought it. It seems to help. However it really has marred the paint underneath it. And the mounting hardware for it isn't tight so it wobbles around and makes a ton of noise on the highway.

Took mine off as well. Even after using Meguiars Ultimate Compound, there are still a few spots in the paint that would not come out. IMO it looks better without it anyway.

Can't speak to the WeatherTech version specifically. Mine is the AutoVentShade version and I find it works great. Piece of cake to install-best done on a warm, sunny day.
I run an almost flush to the rails roof rack full time . The sunroof deflector does an excellent job of shielding not only the sunroof but pushing the airflow up and over my rack.
