Air intake for '97 4Runner

I need a new air filter and figured it was time to upgrade.

Anyone have any filter recommendations? I know the Amsoil ones seem to be popular. What is the model # and best place to order from for that?

I also was considering an intake system like the K&N one made for the 3.4L V6 that Performance Products sells for $260. Is the performance worth the money?

The K&N FIPK is overpriced and if you ever take the truck offroad you have the chance to intake H2ohhhh into da enjin. And the K&N cost $260. Expen$ive.

This summer, I will be doing da deckplate mod and I think dat will cost me under $30 da most. Will work da same as the open design of K&N. Right now I have putted da K&N drop in filter. I also have heard dat the Amsoil is a good product. Washable too.
