TPS & Mass Air Flow help? 97 4wd 6 cyl

I have a 97 4wd 6 cyl 140K...well maintained miles

It idles rough...plug, wires, cap and rotor all recently changed.

Took it to the dealer (a few months back) and they told me it was a problem with the TPS & Mass Air Flow and wanted to charge we $850!

They suggested I try and junkyard. Anyone know where on the net to try and locate a used one....or even a new one? should I buy a new one?

You can get a used one at a Salvage Yard for $150 or less.

hey I think we're in the same boat. I just had my codes pulled and my mechanic said I need to change my wires/plugs and replace my TPS. He said with labour included that it would cost $400CAN all together. Maybe you should go to another place....I dunno...just a suggestion.

o yea...one more thing my 97 4runner idles rough too...the 2nd code was C306(#6 misfires) do you think I need a new distributor cap???

You don't have a distributor cap. I'd suggest replacing the plugs and you should be fine.
