Having read through several threads related to EDC, First Aid Kits and general preparedness on this forum I noticed I haven't seen any discussion regarding Air Medical Transport insurance/membership so I just wanted to put this on your radar.
Being a former racer (sportbikes), having good insurance and supplemental insurance was a necessity. Air Medical Transport was of particular importance as it was customary for unconscious riders to be airlifted. I happened to carry all three listed below because any one of these transports could be summoned at any given track I raced and while my primary insurance would cover some of the cost it did not cover all of it.
Though I no longer race, I still have use for this type of coverage because like many of you I like to head out into the wilderness whenever possible. For those of you that don't venture to far from home this can still be a benefit if you live in a rural area where your preferred hospital is beyond a reasonable drive when minutes matter.
Membership generally covers the gap between what your insurance covers and rates are "chump change" ($45-150 per household annually) compared to the money dropped on group buys and upgrades.
