Airbag inspection

In the owner's manual, it recommends the air bags be inspected after 10 years.

My 1999 Limited 4x4 was made in the fall of 1998.

Anyone had their airbags inspected? If so do you know what they did?

Was it possible to avoid the steelership? They are $110/hour and it's a logistics and transit PITA.

I really should have mines inspected too. I think that the stealership is your only option, unless there is a reliable, honest mechanic in your area with knowledge about airbags.
