Airlift 1000 question.

I am thinking about adding Airlift 1000, so I can control rear sag when I tow my travel trailer.
I did some reading about it and liked what I have read with exception of necessity of cutting bump stops…. and just in case if I am not happy with the setup and want to put everything back….. I was wandering if anyone was in that situation and was able to locate inexpensive bump stops. Because according to my local dealer it is $93.00 each :flamethrwoer2:.

not sure why u would want to go back, firestone or the airlift are a very nice addition with the possible exception of a bent or cut line but thats easily fixed. (my advise, get a couple of elbow, Air Lift Company Union- Elbow 1/4" Tube x 1/4" Tube - Union) sorry to say but cutting the bump stops is what needs to be done in order to use them, unless u buy replacements used from someone thats the $ they cost, aftermarkets r even more. So where do you use the elbow?

where the air line comes out of the bottom, ive noticed that over time the line gets bent where it comes the around the axle, im told the elbow will solve this, & looks like it will. if id known , i'd of ordered it with in the beginning. im not sure why it bent but for now its only on one side, so i ordered 2 just in case.

Heavy duty spring will give me harsh ride and I do not want that… I just need a little help when I tow my travel trailer.

You probably right… I guess I just need to go ahead and do it.

Why not just remove the bump stop all together. They just sit inside the top of the springs and if you find you don't like the Airlift put the stops back in. The Airlift "pillow" will act as a bump stop itself.

I had these in my 2nd gen T4R and loved them. I cut my bump stops all the way to the top and never had any problems.

the top of the bag touches the cut bumpstop & when filled will help keep it level & add firmness at "that" height, also protects the bag otherwise nothing is supported until theres enough of a load to touch the bags. imo, without it sort of defeats the purpose of leveling, u can order a spacer for the top of the bag tho that may take place of the bumpstop, its best to call & ask.this is on a 3rd gen but u get the idea.

Just want to give an update: I have installed Airlift 1000 this past weekend. Did not have much time to test it yet, but so far everything looks and feels great just as everyone who had one had described. Real test will be when I will be pulling my travel trailer to hunting lease in about 3-4 weeks.:guitar3:
One positive surprise was that Airlift gives you lifetime warranty for those bags!:thumb3:
Just to note: I have installed them with air-nipples on the top instead of the bottom, which makes routing the air hoses easier and cleaner for the setup itself.
