Ajohnson85's '87 build

These are 17x9" 2.5" backspace. Required a little caliper shaving without wheel spacers. I have IFS calipers and FJ Rotors. I had the same wheel in 15" and it did not fit over the caliper without wheel spacers.

Thanks man that's good to know since i was just looking at them in 15"

I finally got the tailgate to open. The passenger side latch cable was seized, and the handle rod retainer clip was broken. I stole those from my other tailgate, and the support panel that was missing.

Looks like fun!

Can you post some close up pics of your CB antenna mount? I'm thinking about getting that Firestik mount with a 2' Firestik for my truck.

Looks like fun. I still don't believe there's wild horses on the beach. Lol

It was fun! It was really cool to see horses.

I will try to remember to get a pic. The mount leans forward with angle of the fender slope, I tried to straighten it with a washer under the front leg

Are they still charging for a permit to go out at oregon inlet? havent been down there since last year and didnt have a operating 4wd at that point. Want to ride donw there from williamsburg one weekend soon, but dont feel like buying one of their permits either. May just go towards corolla if i go down.

Yes for the southern beaches, $50 week or $130(?) annual.

I thought so, did you go out on oregon inlet or up towards corolla? I would think that with the permits oregon inlet probably doesnt get as much traffic now days, and that sounds worth 50 bucks to me.

Exactly right, the permit beaches were a lot quieter, worth the permit IMO. I went up to Corolla on Sunday and there were a lot of people out there.

man that thing looks nice sittin' on the beach! jealous of your paint job!

I had a blast! But I won't take it out there again, that long ride was painful with shitty AC lol. The Taco is getting a 4wd conversion soon and will be the beach trip ride from now on.

Absof#ckinglutely AMAZING build

I just a Gen2 4runner, loving it,

your build was mindblowing

great job

Thanks, that means a lot to me!

....that long ride was painful with shitty AC lol. !

I hear ya on the AC situation, I pulled the mats in the front and my floorboards get HOT. I've been collecting parts to hook up my AC but haven't done it yet. I have the added complication of having electric cooling fans and zero room in my engine bay, so getting that condenser in there is gong to be interesting.

I went to Rausch Creek in PA over the weekend. It was a good time. Only issues were dropping the front diff on a rock and cause a leak, and loosing a sensor bung plug on my Tacoma's URD header on the interstate on the way home. I had to rob the 4Runner's O2 sensor to plug the bung.

I forgot to mention I ordered this 4xinnovations roll cage kit, full length DOM tube. I ordered it 2 weeks ago, and luckily Adam had one in stock and got it to me the following Saturday [emoji106].

I got most of the floor plates installed yesterday, and started tacking the front section together today. I got the main hooped burned together with a splice tube, plug welds, and beveled the joint, then ground it smooth

Then I got the windshield and roof bar set in place before the storm came

I debated leaving the roof bar out so I can use the sunroof, but I would have to trim the lever, and it leaks anyway, so I will silicone the sunroof shut. Now I debate if I put the sunshade in or leave it out. If it's in, it won't come out and vice versa

Looking good, I say leave the sunroof shade off and tint the window a little bit to help with heat, just me though.
