That 4Runner is badass. Any advice for applying the stripes from James Dean Creations? I'd like to get some for my '87. They look fantastic.

It's pretty much sat in the driveway for the last year. Haven't been motivated to work on it or drive it.

I got some Corbeau baja seats, but they sent me a beat up passenger side and then backordered them for two months :clap2:

I am probably going to sell the 40" creepies soon. They are just too heavy to enjoy driving it. Not sure what tires I will get, though.

I went back to 37’s last fall. These master craft courser mxt’s were only $243 each. Haven’t tested yet until I replace a bent rear axle flange with the FROR full float kit. Also put in a set of porno red PRP daily drivers on Corbeau sliders. I have a harness bar to weld in for 5 point belts.

Finally replaced my IACV and she starts and cold idles perfectly now.

Sadly the weather probably won’t cooperate this weekend, so the full floater install may have to wait until next month.

If there is anything I love as much as Toyota trucks, it is tiny Toyota trucks. RC4WD released an ‘85 4runner hard body, and I preordered one immediately. I can’t wait to weld a 1/10 scale cage.

Looks like you keep yourself busy! I have an 86 turbo- been wrenching on Toyotas since the 70s-regrettably, never got very good at welding. Always impressed with welders with game!

Haha, I try to stay motivated. I was lucky enough to just pick up a welder and not need much practice to be decent at it. Some of my friends weld for a living and say I’m better than guys doing it for 30 years so that’s cool.

Maybe I should follow your example. My son in law is an incredible welder- cut his teeth on custom road bike frames. Hmmm...wonder if he’d give me lessons.

I got started on my FROR full floater kit. I used the non-brake backing plate for 5th gen 4runner rear brakes. I have a driveline ebrake. It’s pretty simple, I’ll let a few pics tell the story. Let me know if you have questions.

The Trail Gear wheel bearing nut kit is awesome...

Unfortunately, the caliper hits the rotor before touching the mounting ears.

There is an 1/8”+ gap between the mounting ears with the caliper against the rotor. I think the ears were milled on the wrong side. I’m 99% sure it is together correctly, so I’ll have to see what FROR says. I think I can stack washers and use longer bolts for now.

I hit up Brian and he has tested this brake setup with ‘03-09 4runner rear brakes. I assumed the ‘10+ would work, but I guess the calipers are a little different? I stacked two washers on each bolt to align the caliper, I think I can live with that.

Looking awesome as usual.

I'm digging the RC setup. I don't have an RC crawler, but have one of the lexan 4runner bodies put up still in the box, just in case I ever get one. That one is way cooler.
