Greetings from the Great Land! I just bought a red 2011 TE, but not here! Seems Alaska just doesn't get many TEs, and when they do, the dealer can sell them for sticker . . . so if you want one for something less than sticker, you'll have to go elsewhere. And I did. I'll be flying to Seattle on the 18th and picking up my TE within minutes of landing . . . and I can't wait.
I already changed the tires to Dura Tracs based on comments from this forum. I'll get a remote starter and block heater when I get it back up here, which will occur right after the five day drive from Seattle to Anchorage. Imagine, a solo 5 day road trip up the Alaska Highway in September!
I should also add that I saved a bunch of money on an extended warranty by reading what members had to say here on this forum. I went with Jerry in Kansas, and what everyone said was true: in less than 10 minutes I had the 8 year/125K plan for over $1,000 less than the dealership quoted me! Regardless of what one thinks of the virtue of extended warranties, if you want one, Jerry will give you a nice low price without any difficulties.
I look forward to reading the colective expertise available from this forum (now, where did I put that Yukon Territory map . . .).
