Performance issues FINALLY fixed! (An embarrassing tale)

I gave up on running 87 octane for this reason. Never really full-on ping, but just some extra 'roughness' when getting on the throttle at lower RPM.

I will say as another update that the pinging has slowly lessened. I presume the computer is still learning as I went from 16.5ish mpg (lowest before the fix), up to 17.5 mpg, and now up to 18.5 mpg. I'm curious to see how much things improve.

Prior to this nightmare I had the truck hitting 19-19.5 weekly on my regular work commute.
