Alarm ?? Hmm.... Compustar ?

Hi Everyone

I just bought a 98 4R on Saturday and all seems to be going well except figuring out the alarm ? , remote start ? .

First, it has something in it ( LOL ) cause I can unlock/lock the doors with the key chain remote . Trouble is there is no name on the remote and heck if I know where they hid the unit on the vehicle , looked everywhere , mostly . I do however see on the rad ,it has a big warning decal saying it has a Firstech remote starter installed . Ok great , that leads me to Compustar after a little searching. I cant find anything that looks close to my remote in thier manual section ,obviously cause its probably old . Anyone have a old series Compustar in thier Toy ( 1998 era ) ? This remote is black and has 4 buttons , clockwise from top left , LOCK , UNLOCK , OPTION and TRUNK .

Have a feeling its in valet mode and followed some instructions on newer models to get it out but remote start still dont work and no matter what combo I press the led light inside never does come on , ever .

Sorry for huge post , if anyone has an older Firstech remote or Compustar system ( circa late 90's ) wouldnt mind having a chat ,thanks !!!!

did u try compustar.org? i love my 2 way 3000 feet, being able to start the car from work to the parking lot is kool, people wonder how i do that from such a far place, i tell them compustar, those dei brands have no range like our compustar, http://www.compustar.com/csupport/remotemanual.htm

Ya I was there . My remote doesnt look like any of those ,I assume because of the year of it . I tried a few different directions on some of them , but nothing really worked . What I need is somebody with a unit made in the late 90's like mine is and grab some instructions off him/her .

thats one old alarm, maybe u should take it to them authorize compustar dealer, i think they can help u out way better than me. also did u try all those one way remote ?

Well I sent a picture to Compustar and the nice fella there emailed me right back and said its a Code Alarm . So that helps a lot . When their site is working : I will see if I can dig up any info. on it .
