Alarm/remote installation in MI?

Does anyone know any good alarm/remote starter installation places in Oakland County, MI? I called up "Mickey Shorr" and they wouldn't even give me a quote over the phone, told me to come in for a "free quote". So GayWhat kind of place doesn't give you a free quote over the phone? You would think that they could at least give you a ballpark figure if you said what vehicle and alarm you own. :lmao:

Stay away from Mickey Shorr!! They're terrible hacks, I know from unfortunate personal experience.

I had a remote start installed there and my windows tinted, they did an excellent job on both.

How much are they and did you get the one with the remote that tells you the status?

I checked out "Car Tunes". They quoted me about $200 for installation. I asked how much it would be to lower the back window with the push of the button on the remote he said I might need a $55 module, if that is so I think I will skip that mod.

Car Tunes is definitely more reputable than Mickey Shorr. I assume you went to the one on Woodward and 11?

And Max, no I didn't install it, I had the shop do it. They were running a special on remote starters right before winter. If I recall it was $100 for a basic system installed (no remote status or other extras).

the place i had install mine, were able to program my factory keyfob to opererate the remote/alarm , & my cheapo one was only 140 installed, so where ever you go u should ask them to do that.. ive had it for 2 years now & no problems & works fine, & since its the factory fob, i still have the window button.

I installed mine myself. I wouldn't say it is easy if you don't have a good understanding of the wiring system. Mine took me 4 hours, that was with an alarm combo. Hardest part is first finding all the connections and they making it look clean.
