Alarm Woes

Had a Viper 5806V installed today. I wasn't thorough about testing it when I picked it up. (durrr)

So remote start sets off the alarm about a third of the time, the glass breakage sensor isn't working, and I can stand on the running board and jump up and down without triggering, so I assume the shock sensor isn't working either.

I'm taking it back in the morning to have them fix it. I guess the installer messed up something with the alarm or the bypass module.

So much for assuming it would be a routine install.

How soon after arming the alarm do you go through your "tests"? I believe you need to wait at least a full minute before trying the shock sensor. How are you testing the glass break sensor?

As far as the alarm being triggered during remote start, are you talking about the factory alarm? If so, they just need to set the remote start to disarm the OEM alarm before it remote starts (this will unlock the doors), then re-arm/ lock once started.

Did you go to the home of the $1 install?

Turns out that they hadn't done a '15 install yet and the tech missed some stuff during programming. Took it back in this morning, and after some time on the phone with the manufacturer they figured it all out.
