Pollution? I was up in Dankorage for a year, that place was always crystal clear. I guess it’s all in the perspective though.
Off roading up there is an entirely different beast. It’s wet, loose and muddy and my runner did not perform well in it.
There is supposed to be a place near Eagle River to off-road, I was advised to never go there. To many red necks that wanna light your car on fire if you leave it unattended for a minute. So I’m told.
Expect rust. wash under the trim of your wheel wells and the backside of your rear bumper frequently. You’ll see plenty of runners rusted totally out in those places.
Shy away from any coating materials like rhino lining to prevent rust. It still rusts, you just wont ever see it. Stick to an oil based.
Good news is Alaska doesn’t use salt. They use some other ice melt mixed with a whole lot of gravel.
