alignment after lift

anyone ever performed and alignment after a lift themselves? i just lifted my vehicle 3 inches this past weekend and i am moving on wednesday and have to drive a little more than 300 miles but dont have time to go to an alignment shop. =/. so have any of you done an alignment and been successful at it? and if so any tips for me?

You can get it close, but you need the tools an alignment shop has to get it right on.

I would try to make the time to go. Right after a lift the alignment is completely ruined..

Yep,,, Learning right before a road trip is not the time. Find the time to hit up the alignment shop.

My truck was super scary to drive after I installed the lift. I only drove it a mile or so to make sure nothing would fall off. I'd make time for a proper alignment if I were you. Better safe than sorry.

it drives completely fine and straight. i just want it close before i go to my new home town. and i'm buying new tires soon so i'm not worried about a little wear, i just want them to make it. i'm definitely going to an alignment shop when i get settled.

If you are satisfied with the way it drives now and feel safe, then dont touch it.

Incorrect alignment will kill your MPG as well. If you are handy you can probably set the toe just fine on your own, but your camber and caster should be done at a shop with their rack and fancy computer.

I recently re-lifted front and rear and replaced inner and outer tie rods. I set the toe myself and after afterwards it seemed to be driving ok, but having it aligned (the toe was perfect but they made big caster adjustments) made a noticable difference, especially on the highway - it felt more "settled".
