Alignment-before and after lower ball joint replacement

Ok so I did not think that lower ball joint replacement would effect front end alignment, but I have discovered that is not the case.

A timeline of my situation is as follows:

2/21/18 new tires and alignment - felt fine and drove fine

3/26/18 installed lower ball joints - felt fine and drove fine.

4/15/18 noticed feathering on the outside edge of the front tires

4/19/18 same tire shop rechecked alignment and reset toe, as you can see it changed quite a bit.

Attached are the alignment sheets from before lower ball joints and after.

Good to know. Doing my LBJs in about a week and was wondering how much it would effect things. Thanks for the heads up

If your ball joints are bad, or going bad, then an alignment after LBJ replacement will probably be required.

No doubt about it, mine were bad!!! I should have done them before getting my tires and alignment, thankfully the shop took care of it.

I’m super anal about getting my alignment checked.
After every wheeling trip depending on how hard I go
And of course after any front end work or adjustments
Fact is no matter how good you are things never go back exactly the way you took them out.
I’ve done some work where yeah it was in the green BUT just cause it’s in the green doesn’t mean it’s right.

Got it. The reason why I asked about Firestone is because they refused to even include caster on my printout, let alone adjust it...until I brought them a screenshot from this forum of another member from a different Firestone.

After that point the manager himself finally did the caster for me.
