SPC camber bolts will slip if not correctly TQ'ed. I had this issue with 2 alignment shops. Stock TQ is 98 ftlb, SPC require 150 ftlb. You need to really tell the alignment shop to tq to 150 or they will slip everytime.

Another issue is the the installation instructions are BS for the SPC cam bolts. They want you to cut the old cam bolts out and install them backwards to avoid moving the steering rack.

But this makes the rear bolts impossible to get a good TQ wrench over the bolt without removing rack. So you must flip the rear bolts so the nut is facing forward and not towards the rack.

I had to remove all the rack bolts, disconnect the tie rod ends and rag joint. I have a rag joint spacer for my body lift which allowed me the space to move the rack out of the way and flip the bolts. I also removed the scrape plate to give them more access to the front bolts. After this I have not had them slip on or offroad. Just drove 1600 miles total and hit up a 4/6 rated train in AZ. Was a good test.

Knowing this, would you just buy OEM Toyota cam bolt replacement if you had to do it again. That just seems like a righteous PITA considering what all is involved in using the SPC cam bolts over OEM. I have a set of SPC LR UCAs sitting a few feet away waiting for lift parts to be put in. I just want to make sure I have everything I need to hit the ground running.

To get the stock bolts in and out you must also lift the rack. The SPC are cheaper. Come with a plastic sleeve instead of metal so no chance of rusting and won't seize. At first I was wishing i just bought OEM but now I know what I'm doing I would use them again.

I know that after multiple trips overlanding, wheeling and exploring affects my alignment and needs to be done. I just deal with it and drive one handed versus the scary knee driving I see that freaks me out.

I have, though DO not recommend it, seen people weld the bolts. I personally wouldn't do it, but see it done more and more on alignmemt calibration (the bolts for camber) stuff..

Yes, guy I would have to agree on that. If I can do it over I wouldn't by SPC, the alignment shop had to added washer so it tighten up more. Alignment shop also told me these SPC bolts strip if you tighten it too much! NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FUTURE MEMBERS!

I dont see how the bolts would stip. I have tq'ed on them so many times to 175lb tq testing different setups and never stripped them. I also dont see why the washer would need to be added, that makes no sense. It sounds like the shop dont know what they are doing. That seems to be about 99% of all alignment shops.
