Alignment trouble after installing TC UCA's

Installed a pair of Total Chaos UCA's last night. Drove fine on the way home from the garage where they were installed (approximately 10km).

But I took it in for an alignment this afternoon and it took the guy 1.5 hours. When he was done he said he couldn't get enough castor on the passenger side and no the truck pulls to the right as soon as I take my hands off the wheel. Their printer is too old and they couldn't print me.out an alignment report.

Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone experience anything similar after installing aftermarket UCA's?

Will probably go back and get a refund and take it to a different shop with more modern alignment equipment.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

go to a shop that can do it. you drove it from shop that did the install and it worked good. now it's F'ed up after the alignment guy took 1.5hrs ? he is not an experience tech go to another shop. ask local dealerships where they have the alignments done...

Take it to an alighment specialty shop, not a generic tire or Midas type shop.

Right on. Thanks guys. I did the install myself along with a fellow 4runner enthusiast. I took it to a franchise brake and muffler shop that does alignments only because a member of the local Toyota 4x4 club works there. But I will take it to a specialist on Saturday to have them fix the problem.

The cam adjusters on our rigs are known to get rusted into the LCA bushings. When this happens, the alignment shop will not be able to turn the adjuster to make necessary corrections to the camber and caster.

It's my educated guess that there is a possibility this is the reason why the alignment tech had trouble with your rig. If you have one of more cam adjusters rusted in place, you might be able to pound them loose if you're lucky but more than likely they'll have to be cut out. If you have to cut them out, you have to replace the bushings. You can go OEM for the bushings or go aftermarket. Whiteline makes poly bushings for our LCAs.

In case you or others reading this come to the conclusion they need to replace their rusted in place cam adjusters and thus have to replace the bushings to do it, here's a video infamousRNR and I made replacing the LCA bushings for another member.

Spray your lca cam bolts with some penetrate. Bust them lose and make sure they move easily. Take it in for alignment.

Thank you. That will be very useful in the future when it comes time to replace them. But they are not rusted in place. The tech told me he just could get any more caster. He adjusted one side until the machine told him it was all good went to work on the other side until it was good then went back to double check the first side and the numbers were outta whack.
Will just take it to a specialist with better equipment. These guys couldn't even print me off an alignment report cuz their printer was too old I was told. They said the could re align it and take a screen shoot! Lol. Time to see a specialist I figure.
