Outer cv axle boot leaking grease after oem toyota boot replacement.

I recently replaced both left and right cv axle boots on my 2009 v8 4wd 4runner. After purchasing it I noticed the boots were ripped. So instead of removing the original cv axles " which were still working no clicks or loose parts" and waiting to get them rebooted I bought a set of gx470 axles "read they were same for gx470 and 4runner" I also bought a set of OEM 4runner boots for both sides. Took them to a local shop had the install the boots. After they were done I had my mechanic install the cv axles along new hubs, brakes, total chaos uca, moog lca and bilsteins with ome springs. Soon after install the outer boots started leaking grease. I noticed the clamps used were not ones I provided. They ended up using the shops own universal fold over not the crimp clamps. I replaced them for crimp clamps but they still leak but not as bad . Another shop that rebuild axles said toyota oem boots have very hard rubber where the clamps meet. He said those oem boots always leak and need a specialized tool asside from the clamp rachet tool to tighten correctly. Any advise?? Should I use screw tight clamps??

You can search amazon for "toyota cv boot clamp tool". The aftermarket ones are similar to Toyota's design but much cheaper.

Get the Toyota knockoff tool off Amazon. Pinch clamp pliers won’t do the job. I used one of these on my outer boot after I broke the fold over clamp. It’s been fine. These are nice because you can put them on without removing the axle. That plastic they use now for the boots is really firm and requires a lot of force. Don’t use worm clamps.

It’s not a part that goes on the vehicle. It’s a pinch clamp vise that is like the Toyota SST except for less money. Not a complicated tool. But still far more effective than pinch clamp pliers for getting the boot clamps tight.
