all '01s have remote entry?

New to the 4Runner world and have a question.

All '01s have remote entry? How could I tell if mine has it?

CarMax will provide me a remote if the car is equipped already... part of the deal... but I want to make sure I have the capability before I take off work to go down there to the Service Dept.

I would hate to get down there and them say... "Sorry, your truck is not equipped."

I would say yes. In Feb. of that year they made certain extras standard, which lowered the price a bit. But I feel all 4Runner were equipped with the extras, such as 6 speaker stereo and the remotes. I would look and see if the rig has little speakers in the front door right next to the mirrors, that would mean it has some of the extras.

I got my SR5 in March of that year, basically a base model 2 wheel drive, that I have added some stuff to it later and it came with 2 remotes, standard. They still work with the same batteries.

There must be a better way to tell if it has remotes, if I figure it out I let you know.

Yes it does have the little speakers in the front doors. My manual says this car is equipped but I wasn't sure because I know some manuals are made to support all options.

My manual says "Your 4Runner is equipped with remotes", it does not say 'may', it says 'is'. Also keep in mind the remote works the back window, so it has to be a remote for the 4Runner. My feeling is yes, your car came equipped at on time with a remote.

The original sticker from my 2001 lists keyless entry as a standard feature.
