All Colorado 4runner meet Apr 28th

The thing that scares me about 50+ rigs wheeling is the impact on the environment.

This means that not only the quantity of vehicles on trail but "parking" MUST stay on trail and no "drive arounds" to get somewhere.

Something of this magnitude could turn into a reason to shut down wheeling trails.

PLEASE STAY THE TRAIL
and TREAD LIGHTLY!

This if not handled properly could turn nasty fast. I know that other groups (not saying names) had to get Insurance, and permits to have that many rigs on any cetain trails.
That being said, I may show up at the parking lot, meet up/say hi to some old friends, but Im not into wheeling with big groups, so Ill just peel off and hit something else, let you all have your fun, hope you all break the record that you are shooting for :trophy:

50+ 4Runners in one spot? We can beat that here in Colorado easily,just go to the mall on the weekend and photograph the parking lot and count the 50+ 4Runners. :banana:

funny but TRUE...

These a Toyota club and I dont know the name, that puts on a huge show every spring, they always try and get 4x4s there but seems only a few show up, probley cause its mainly low riders and ricers, but thats an option.
They have it at the Outlet mall in Castle Rock, if I remember the name or see any info about it, Ill post it up :hiding:

I'm thinking that it is a bad idea to wheel, especially in the early spring, with that many rigs.

Maybe the date might be a tad too early, we can still push it out some if needed. late May should be good for these dirt roads.

And Gerdo, If it was actual wheeling I might be concerned but the trails we are talking about are basically glorified dirt roads.

you break up into 5 or 6 groups of 10 rigs with experienced drivers leading each group, you stagger the leave time and meet all at a place capable of taking pics of all the rigs and then stagger the groups out again.

Meet at a place to eat with a big parking lot capable of handling all the rigs.

Simple as Pie...

Ill make sure whatever trail we take is approved by the local authorities and taken care of.

I have to ask "WHY" what does it matter how many rigs they, had show up at some run or event ?

I know when I talked to the guys at Stevinson Toyota they mentioned being willing to sponsor groups and outings.

as far as the other questions,
The goal is to get EVERY 4runner owner in Colorado and any from surrounding states to come hang out. I think that in the process of that, we will have more people. Is it super important to have more people? No... I think that we will just based on how many 4runner owners we have per capita in the front range.

A little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone. I would love to have a Nationwide meet somewhere too... Im super social though and would like to meet all the cool people I chat with on the board. Even Thai! :cheers: :bravo:

Im gonna edit the date, any suggestions? Im thinking pushing it back to June should work for all the trails we have listed above. that will also give me and some others time to scout out the perfect meet spots for pics that will minimize any impact of our group on a trail.

If you are serious about organizing some trail runs you may want to check out the FJ summit FJSummit 2012 National Meet
They get over 200 FJs in Ouray so it is well organized with the cooperation from the state, parks and towns.
