how much front lift would you expect a "1" front leveling kit" give you?

wrong. answer is 2" according to person I spoke with on phone. I know lift is usually about twice the actual thickness of the spacer, but they are calling this a 1" leveling kit.

Due to the geometry of the IFS you will get approx a 2x ratio on wheel/fender lift comapred to the height of a spacer. I.e. if a spacer is 1" thick it will lift the fender approx 2". This changes at various angles, but close enoguh to use 2x.

Also it doesn't really matter for static height if it is a preload or top spacer (preload goes between the coil and the top plate of the shock assembly).

You are looking for a 1/2" thick spacer to get 1" of lift. A top out spacer will be easier to install and OK with the stock shocks and coils, as it wont affect your suspension characteristics much, a preload will load the coil a little and can create the feeling of a slightly firmer suspension (not that much at 1/2" though). The preload is much bigger pain to install though.
 
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I know it gives you roughly twice the lift as the thickness of the spacer. Toytec tells you how much lift the spacers give you. Seems like better information than saying it is a 1" front leveling kit. I'm glad I called before ordering. I don't want to raise the front 2". To me, that's not leveling, that's pre-runner style. Especially if you have any weight in the back.

In short, I am looking for a 1/2" pre-load spacer to get 1" of lift and to firm the front up just a bit more (already installed FJ coils and FJ Bilstein HD's).

I've seen many pictures on here people using the toyotec front spacer. It seems perfectly level to me and I did not get the impression of it looking like a prenunner with the front higher then the rear at all. Might want to search for pictures on here.
 
When I mentioned Pre-Runner, I was referring to the 2" All-Pro lift (1" spacers). Toytec makes various thickness spacers, but I believe all are top plate (not pre-load). OME says they only work with their shocks.

Right now, I am looking at the Daystar 3/4" thick pre-load spacers which replace the factory coil isolators netting 1.25" lift.

I am also emailing with Cornfed.

It's already been determined that if you are going to put a top plate spacer on the front CO's,in other words a spacer on top of the CO assembly, that the studs in the top plate are not long enough. Therefore you will have to disassemble the CO anyways to change the studs.That's why they give you longer studs with the top plate spacers to replace the factory ones.I'm not sure how that would be easier then a pre-load spacer? You have to press the old studs out and install new ones!

That's a fact on the 1 inch top plate spacers but you might be able to get away with a 1/2" top plate spacer and factory studs. Pretty easy to tell ....go look at the 3 studs on top of the CO and see if you have at least an extra 1/2" of threads sticking out of the nuts.

This is very informative. Thanks for the post. I did not think the studs will not be long enough. Been browsing the forum for years and no one mentioned that the studs might not be long enough.

Better to do a pre-load spacer install if this is the case!
 
Topout spacers are always misleading as they read , but it's just know I guess .

1/2" = 1"

3/4" = 1.5"

1" = 2"
