All Terrain Tires in Winter?

I need to buy a set of tires to make it through this winter. I have narrowed it down to the Bridgestone AT Revos, General Grabber AT2's, or the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's. And I don't know if I should get the 265/70R/16 or the 265/75R/16 for my 2000 4Runner. It is a stock limited so it has running boards.
Any suggestions? We have a lot of snow here and From Dec to March it is mostly snow packed ice...

I have revos and they are great in the snow. I would go with the 75's - they should fit without rubbing and give you a little better stance.

Well you know what I am going to say. These are all great tires. I love the Scorpions and after having rolled 900 miles from Haines to Anchorage I can now swear by them. I am glad you have options. all these tires are pricey.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered the Grabber AT2's because of the price. I did go with the 75's though. The dealer agreed that it was a good choice to go with the bigger tire. He said something about more plys in the tire...

BFGs and Nittos both are fine in the white stuff.

Consider Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour. Not cheap @ ~ 200 a tire.

I have a 2000 4runner with running boards also, I went with the 265/75r16 BF AT KO's. I live in Wisconsin and we have plenty of the white stuff.

I love the BFG AT KO's, I had them on my last 3 vehicles, they get great traction and last a long time. My last set I sold with 60,000 and they still had 50% tread left. If you look on Tirerack most owner's are getting 100,000 miles from them.
