ok, i have noticed that lately something bad has been happening to our 4Runners, so post em here.


1996 Toyota 4Runner
vs.
2000 Nissan Altima

what happend:
my dad parked behind me and he over slept so when i pulled out of the garage i didnt see the small car and messed it up! BAD

damage:

4Runner only cracked the back left mud guard
Altima got front right fender crushed in and parking light ripped out

Haha I did the same thing to my friends hatch-back honda civic a few years ago. Except it didn't even hurt my 4Runner, my hitch just put a huge dent in his front bumper.. The good thing was I wasn't going to fast, but it scared the shit out of us and he was like... "MY CAR!" haha
 
two hit and runs on me in a week

damage? missing paint strips on my tjm

rear, some stupid person with a bright green car damaged their crap on my 5" lifted 4runner into my hitch.

fixes? rear=none, front=paint tjm to match truck now that its silver :)

so in the end i dont care, as long as a dumptruck doesnt ram my stuff im good.

well for the rear i am getting a Sonoransteel bumper hopefully. used
 
I have had my fair share of accidents, luckily none of them minor and I have not made my insurance skyrocket. THank God.

My first one involved rear ending 2 Indian guys from Indiana (ironic eh) in a 2000 Camry at about 5 MPH. They decided to stop at a yield sign. I tweaked my front bumper a good bit, folded in their rear bumper and bent the trunk lid some. Happened in DC. Funny thing was, after exchanging insurance, they decided to split, before the cops showed up. Good thing they did, for 2 reasons. 1, the cops would have given me a ticket for not paying attention and 2, apparently they were committers of insurance fraud because their car was registered in Indiana, but they lived in Virginia. I completely got off with that one.

My next accident (actually 2) involved people running into my trailer hitch.

The last one that was my fault, I decided to not pull straight out of my garage and ripped off the passenger mirror. DUH.
 
turn around and look behind before you back up. Here is san antonio everyone throws thier crap in reverse and just backs up without looking. could be a kid or something behind you.
 
I was parked in my usual spot in front of my house, legally I should add. A girl drove her Dodge Caliber right into the 4Runner's driver's side rear... her vehicle was entirely fubar-ed and mine had a good bit of cosmetic damage. I've come to find out (3 weeks later; it's still in the shop) that the axle is shifted and damaged... so they sent it out to have it checked out further. :bash:
 
well for me.. it was dark outside and light inside
it was 5:40 in the morning
and i didnt want to hit my mirror on the edge of the garage
 
Sigh.

10 MPH + snow + inexperienced Civic driver = thunk.

That or their F%$#ing texting. I was in a hit and run with a one ton cummins dually. only damaged my mirror. sux
 
I was in my school parking lot parked listening to the radio waiting to go in for class and was hit on my right side were the wheel is at..WHILE I WAS INSIDE. Luckily there was no damage only for a mild scratch on the plastic mud flap thing, but the guys 99' ford mustangs entire bumper came off lol. I just laughed and told him to learn how to park then went off to class. 4runner lovee.
 
Good lord i wish someone would rip my front and rear bumper off so i can get aftermarket. ahh yess.
 
Wasn't really a crash, but today, I took my 4Runner into the body shop at my dealership and I realized I will be getting more done than I thought.

I originally was going to get my fender replaced and my door fixed.

Now, I'm getting a new fender, a new sport hood, my drivers door redone or possibly reskinned, my rocker panel painted, and the little underheadlight covers redone.

Thank god for my bodyshop guy being an insurance adjuster, I'll tell ya. I think I'll shell out the extra $150 for a new windshield, with a total of $250 for all the work.

Nothing my tax return can't cover.
 
I have never got into an accident yet (and hopefully never will), but yeah, when the runner was only about two years old my dad, who had spent a whole two days fishing nonstop, kinda dozed off while driving home, and this was the result:

Needless to say, he learned his lesson, but the scrapes on the fender flares and the dents on the bumper are still there. The look of it doesn't really bother me anymore and it's a good reminder for me to look at everytime I look at the runner to be a good driver.
