Alloy Wheel Pitting?

I have a 2003 SE V6 that I washed and waxed this weekend. Upon cleaning the wheels (17"), I noticed quite possibly a little bit of pitting/bulges on the surfaces at the corners of the alloy wheels.

Has anyone noticed this?

I'm not saying it's a acceptable thing , but have seen a lot of that over the years. One you get a nick in the clearcoat moisture gets in there and then it spreads like a cancer. There is no cure that I'm aware of .

Went off roading this last month and had lots of rocks that hopped up and bit my wheels. A couple pretty big bites too.

I have noticed spots on my wheels as well. Being that Ihave an extended warranty I don't know if I could bring this up with toyota as a warranty issue. If not maybe wire brush and apply a clear coat on the wheels? what are your thoughts.

Pending how worst it is, you can always go to a rim shop and have them resurfaced or dipped.
