I went to the dealership for a test drive, and really enjoyed the 2005 SR5 V6 4x4 I drove. I told the salesperson, who was very friendly, that I was going to go home and sleep on it, but I'd be back the next day to talk about numbers with him. He asked me to come inside to have a look at numbers tonight, so I did.
So, he asked me what it would take to do a deal tonight. He offered $16,000 on my trade (which has a Private Party value of $15,600) and said he'd find out if they could do the truck for $26,000. Now, this particular truck had all sorts of options on it that drove the price up about $1800, so I figured they wouldn't bite on it.
So, tomorrow I'm planning on going down there to see if they really want to sell me a 4Runner. I was only going to ask for $14,000 for my trade, but since he brought it up, I'll make it $16,000 and $26,000 for the 4Runner.
There's a slight possibility I may have a new vehicle tomorrow.
By the way...I was VERY impressed with out civil this truck was on the pavemenent, considering how well it eats up off-road situations.
