Was it as deep as this ? I thought I would flood the car after this trip to Santa Barbara...

yes, and it almost merged the whole bumper. luckily no water inside my truck:)

The fogs are cool when they are underwater!! Never got over the bumper, but I took it really slow...

Have to have the breather mod to cross any water deeper than 12" deep. Those little stock breathers will just suck in that water and ruin the oil in the diffs.

It was very very bent...so bent that it was hitting the road that produces the screechy sound and might be the one producing the smell too...when I actually looked at it, it made me curious as to what's its purpose??? why is that kind of plate placed there???

Anyways, I was able to bent back to its place and on the next day we had a long drive from CT to MA and back to CT again on the same day...everything seems to be fine with our truck...I hope!!!

I think the plate got bent because of the water current while I was backing up...maybe, I backed up so fast and the position of the said plate was so against the current thatmade it bent so much...
!!!

I had about the same thing happen to me as well. I ended up breaking the transfer case skid plate off backing out of a rocky river bed. The fiberglass cover and cost about $50 to replace, but it was snapped clean off at the mount. Not sure if it was the current or I came down on a rock hard with it. Next one I loose will be replaced with an aluminum pate. :D
