Alpicool fridges

I’m looking at adding a fridge. Already have a dual battery set up. I’ve found a few year old posts about them but nothing too recent.

I’d rather not spend $1k when these are $3-400. I mean that’s the cost of a high end cooler. Any experience with these longevity wise?

That looks like a Dometic for sure. Mobicool also makes the MCF40 which still looks like a Dometic. Sorry OP, I don't have experience with Aplicool. They are all over Amazon though and Amazon has a pretty good return policy if it doesn't work out

I don't have any experience with the Alpicool we ended up going with a Iceco VL45 and couldn't be happier.

Don't have any experience with aplicool fridges but I personally have a iceco jp40 with a dan foss compressor (same compressor in Dometics) and it's been working great. I've also heard good things from Setpower as well.

Ozark Overland on YouTube has a couple of reviews on some lower cost fridges. Don’t recall what brands he did though.

I got an iceco JP50. It has been inside the rig and on since November 2020. I have been happy with it.

I have the alpicool c12, keeps my beers cold. I run it off my Jackery 240 power station and it only uses 60% of its power over night on average.

I recently got an Alpicool cf45. it has an LG compressor, but to me doesn't mean much because I've owned LG home fridges and compressors have gone out within a year brand new.

I've had it for just over a month and I have it serving as a mini fridge in my at home office, and I've traveled with it once running off the rear outlet and then back up with an Ecoflow battery supply.

The compressor is loud enough to notice in my office, but I can't hear it on the road. The temp fluctuations +/- 4-5 degrees. I have it set at 34, and i've seen it go from 32 - 39. Keeps things really cold and plenty of space for lots of stuff. I've never owned a portable fridge before and I'm coming from yeti coolers.

Alpicool has an app, but really only useful if you're into remotely changing the temps. When the compressor kicks on, it draws at about 45W and when the compressor is off it draws a steady 10-15W.

Hard to provide input on longevity at this point, but so far it meets all my needs.

I’ve been watching a bunch of YT videos about fridges and the Dometics are the top of the line along with ARB and Sea-something? Iceco seems to be a nice middle ground of cost vs quality. They can be had around the $550 to $800 range depending on size and type. Been looking at the VL45. But no matter how you slice it, it’s still a chunk of change.

I used an Alpicool C15 for about 6 months. No problems with reliability but power draw is pretty high for the usable space. I don't recall exactly what it was but I want to say it's about half the draw of my CFX75.

I've been running an Alpicool CF55 with the aftermarket blanket. I've had it about 3 months, using it intermittently and it's been flawless.

I used it on a 5 day camping trip and it worked great. Depending on the weather and the freezer setting, I can get close to 2 days before the battery protection circuit kicks in and I need to start the vehicle to charge the battery.

I bought an open box Alpicool CX30 back in November of 2018. I run it pretty much every day at home as a beer fridge, and then take it with me to Baja anytime we go racing or camping (at least once a month). It hasn't once failed me.

Been running the Alpicool CF55 for 1.5 years and am happy with it, just wish it had wheels for when it's fully loaded up. I have a fam of 5 and it has been able to hold enough for 5-7 day trips.

I read a helpful review on Amazon saying to keep it at 31deg F for ideal temp and that has held true for mine as well.

Before having a solar generator, I did the add-a-circuit to keep the outlets hot and would run the fridge all night off the rear 12v no problem. Now I have a Jackery 500 and it can run it probably two days straight. Jackery shows it pulls around 40W of power +/- 5W, which is accurate to the Alpicool's sticker showing power draw of up to 45W. (I run it on Eco power level and Lo batt protection so it won't shut off too early)

The three things I would want out of a fridge if I could choose would be: bluetooth control, dual zone fridge/freezer, and wheels.
