These look nice. I prefer the in-set look rather than the floating display. Looks more factory and doesn't block the HVAC vents. Wireless Android Auto is also a nice feature.

I was really interested in the Alpine until I saw these. I wonder if Alpine updated their display or came out with anything new at CES?

I'm too curious on the Pioneer.
When I was much younger and did stereo installs in my cars I always thought Alpine was nicer than Pioneer (YMMV).
But now these days, it's not just how good the 5V preouts are, how good the A/D is. You have to consider how good the UX is designed too.

Apparently some new floating displays were debuted at CES.
Alpine offers an 11 in version:

Unfortunately Alpine is still using the WVGA display. Pioneer looks like the better option now.
You probably only looked at the first one or two then. I corrected my original post and eliminated those two. The bottom two absolutely are similar to the halo.

Looks like the is more affordable at about half the cost, but it isn't compatible with the iDatalink's Maestro to keep factory steering wheel controls, and the extra stuff that comes through the OBD like the tire pressures, guages, etc.

I believe it doesn't work with the stock GPS/XM either and needs an additional module

People who've installed the Halo 9, I just discovered that the SiriusXM antenna adapter plug won't plug into my Halo9 as it has a plug for a separate SiriusXM tuner. Anyone know of an adapter or what plug I would need to keep my stock XM antenna? I'm pretty frustrated right now, thanks

Hell I'm tempted to upgrade my 2020 head unit to this, even though it came with android auto! Loveeee the bigger screen, not sure I really like the "floating" and blocking either vents or lower controls though...

Just to follow up, I was under the impression that the Halo 9 had a built in XM tuner, that's one of the reasons I bought it over the 529, but turns out that it doesn't and you have to buy a SXM tuner in order to plug in the stock antenna, so that sucks, but at least I answered my own question

I'm installing mine in the lower DIN slot so that it doesn't block the vents, like someone posted on the first page or 2. I'll have pics in a day or 2
