Alright guys, need your help.

I've been searching and searching for the part bumber of the foglight harness(?) but can't find it. I'm not sure that's even the "technical" term for it.

If you've read the "Headlight Bulb Opinions" thread you may know what I mean. What I need is the part that the foglight bulb plugs into. So on one side the bulb plugs into it, the opposite side has the wires connected to it.

I sent a message to Partznet and they sent back these 2 part numbers but he didn't know if it was correct:

82998-12550 Repair Terminals(?) $4.03
90980-11096 Bulb Sockets $5.42

The Bulb Sockets sounds like what I need but without a picture or description of it I'm a little hesitant to order them. Thanks ahead of time!

The wiring diagrams show connectors F1 and F2 for the fog lights are part #90980-11096. This is the plastic part that has the wires coming out of it that the bulb plugs into. The terminals are the actual metal ends on the wires (inside the connector.) They might or might not have a small length of wire attached to make the repair connection.

Okay gerat, thanks for the help! So the Bulb Sockets are what I need then. I guess I'll order them to see if they have the terminals in them or not. If not I'll have to get my hands on that too because the left terminal in both sockets were blackend pretty bad. Think I would be able to find them at Radio Shack (or other electronic store) or would that be something I would need to order as an OEM part? I'm not the best with wiring if you can't tell.

EDIT: Actually I may have answered my own question. I wonder if that's what the "Repair Terminal" part is that Partznet added in there? Part #82998-12550. That's probably what I'll need.

You are correct. You may not need all the terminals depending on how fried the originals are.

Read your posts about the XD5 in the other Headlight Opinion thread. There should be no problem using other bulbs (than OEM) as long as they have a good contact to terminal fit inside the socket. There are industry standards for the tolerances so there might be problems with cheap "off-shore" manufacturers. Please take some before, during and after pics of the repair, if possible. The only tricky part with this repair is getting the wire terminals to click correctly into the plastic connectors. This is crucial otherwise you will still have a bad connection. Download or get a copy of the wiring manual because it has instructions in the front about taking the connectors apart (GoodTimes had a link to download the manual; search for my posts with pics of the terminals; sorry, not good at linking to them.) There should be no need to rewire the stock foglights into a new seperate circuit with a relay because that is how they are setup as stock. Again, get the manual if you aren't comfortable with the repair method as you said "I'm not the best with wiring if you can't tell." Get a good understanding of what you need to do and it will be fine (and you save the $200+!) Good luck.
