Alright, You Come to the 5th Gen Section Why???

After reading the $750 roof rack saga in the "For Sale" section (must read for those who missed it lol) I realized that I just come here for the entertainment value anymore. Most questions about the 5th Gen 4Runner have been asked and correctly answered many times. A simple search of any question will result in good older threads.

I am pretty sure we are now in, metaphorically speaking of course, "the doldrums" or the "7th inning" as far as 4Runner topics are concerned. Speaking from experience, the 5th Gen has been out long enough to allow the usual topic discussion to run it's course yet not long enough for topics on service items (threw a rod, frozen calipers, worn out seats, timing, radiator, transmission, axles, etc) to really take off. Yes, there have been a few threads on those topics but again, it's only been five years so I predict there will be at least 3-4 more years of BS discussions until the service threads really take off, and believe me, they will. When you sell 75K/yr of something as complex as a vehicle and you add people who think they know more than the guys who designed the 4Runner then yes, service threads are a certainty lol. Even if everyone did what they were supposed to eventually stuff will wear out.

Which brings me to the question: Why do YOU come here?

Same reason why I'm in 4th gen also , needed help with 4r, for believe it or not , lift , tires, general mods ! However as time grew I liked the banter(most times) apparently my grammar sucks IDK maybe . Now I get agitated by the all to frequent questions about STUFF that is easily answered by your stickies(props [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION]) & all the other's who came before with lot's of very time consuming threads ! :rant::barf::loco::wacko::yield: Sorry I started the landslide about rack damn !

Depending on the day all of the above options would apply! Generally I come here because my 4runner is near the top of my money spending hobbies and I enjoy seeing what others have done and in some occasions to give back a little as I spent days on this forum and Tacomaworld when I was deciding between the two.

I found this forum while I was doing research on my next vehicle purchase, I was looking pretty hard at the 2015 Trail and TRD Pro models and did a lot of looking on here to help make my decision. I picked up my 2015 Trail Premium on Tuesday night, so I'm sure I'll be doing even more research on the board.

Is there a link to the $750 roof rack thread? It sounds rather entertaining...
