Alterations on a '07 Sport Edition

I was hoping someone could answer this question for me. My 07 SE 4runner is all black, with a graphite colored roof rack. (first 2 pictures). I was wondering if I can have it altered so that the bumpers and roof rack are silver like the one in the last picture. And maybe an estimated cost, if anyone has done something similar before. Thanks.

The roof rack can be swapped. IIRC, I think 2003-04 Sport Edition and Limited trims came with the silver roof rack. The rack however, is the squared bars like black rack on 2006+ SR5 and Limited trims. The tubular style rack was introduced for 2006+ and exclusive to the Sport Edition.

The bumper can't be swapped easily. Those were found only on 2003-04, maybe 2005 Sport Edition and Limited trims. I'm not 100% certain on the years and trim. The bumper style are different for 2003-05 than the 2006+, most notably the fender flares. The front bumper might require you to change your grille, which would require you to change your headlights and bezel too.

The tubular style roof rack and side steps are on all 2006 and newer Sport Editions.

I just purchased a '07 Sport Edition but no roof rack. Do you guys know of a good place to order OEM roof rack for the SE? I emailed one of the online sites and I was qouted $1500.. ouch.

I didn't know you could get one without a roof rack. I've never seen one without it. Do you mean it doesn't have a roof rack at all? Or it just doesn't have the cross beams that are needed for things like snowboard/ski racks?

No roof rack. As in no rails, just bare roof. It is the first 4Runner I've seen without the rack. I'm suppose to take delivery this friday but now worried that I won't be able to find a roof rack for it. If I go OEM, it will cost me around $1500. It doesn't sound right since it is an accessory option of around $220.

Did you order it from the factory, or is the dealer bringing it down for you. Because if the dealer is just bringing it down for you, you might want to either tell them to add a roof rack, or get a different 4runner that has one. If you threaten to not take the 4runner unless they add the roof rack for $200-$300 they will add it. I just don't understand why it doesn't have a rack, that seems like it was an error, every 4runner is supposed to have one. It's standard, not a $1500 option. I would raise hell with the dealer. But if you already signed/paid for it then you made the mistake of doing all of that before you were positive about the mods on it.

Figures that they would have the audacity to tell you it's $1500 to add something that should be standard. It's probably one of the only 4runners ever made without a roof rack, and they want YOU to pay for their mistake. That's f**ked up.

i will come pick them up if you want to sell. i am also looking to upgrade to the tube ski rack

p.s.
i have never seen a 4runner without a ski rack....
make sure the syicker price doesnt included it in the pricing

I'm rackless on my '04. It wasn't standard at the time. It's was a port installed option. I didn't want it so I had the stealer omit it when they allocated the vehicle to me off the boat. All the stealers want the port to put them on so they can say "that's how they come" and get the $1500 which has a huge built-in profit. As was said, bargain and tell them you want a rack for $200/$300 or you'll walk. They should give it to you.
