Alternator- 2 Duralasts down in a month, water proofing?

Just replaced a Duralast alt with another one. Pretty sure it was old and ready to go. But the new one just crapper out too. Both after mudding lots of water. I now have a World Wide alt from Advanced. But I think the failures r due to water perhaps not brand.

So what is everyone else that sees water doing for their alternator. Can't seal it, itl overheat. So any ideas.

Alternate Alternator relocation mod.....it relocates it to just above the roof line :biggrin2:

I don't hear complaints from OEM...never had one myself from offroading in any other toyota and the stock alternator. I could see how it would be harsh on an alternator though. That would be my expensive suggestion.

a long time ago I have had nothing but problems with duralast so i quit buying from the zone.

IIRC sparkplugs.com sells denso alternators. check it out
