Alternator cover/shield/guard?

i wanted to open up a thread to see if there was anyone who knows of an effective way to keep water out of an alternator when going through large water/mud holes. i have some issues with my alternator every time i go through deep water like this:

gm? will it fit ok or will it require some fabbing. also what would make it less likely to fail due to mud and water?
 
i installed one a few months back very easy to install its off a 95 cadillac deville just need a few washers up top move the bottom bracket down and just some wireing

interesting. it looks to be more solid than the stock 4runner one which would reduce the amount of "stuff" that can get into it. I'm still curious if there are other options for reducing the chances of frying another alternator. I just bought a new one so I'm not really looking to buy another one right away lol. maybe when I've recovered a little bit from buying this last alternator and can find a reason to get the cs-144 without the wife asking questions lol
