Aluminum Radiator?

Does anyone make an aluminum radiator for our runners? I'm not sure why but I'm having a hell of time trying to find anything specifically for our trucks. I've found tons of stuff for the 3.0, but not the 3.4.

I'm going to bump this up one more time to see if anyone knows if this is something that is available for our trucks, or if anyone makes an aluminum one of equivalent size for our trucks.
 
I just through this into google shopping, it dont say its aluminum but from the picture looks like it is but you might want to call someone who sells them because the denso replacements also look aluminum from the pictures. Also "koyo performance" branded radiators are usually always aluminum. "Koyo" branded are usually not. Always ran them in our high HP mitsubishi's and they always lasted, never had one fail.

Ive been trying to find the same thing, however had no luck.
There are 2 row all aluminum for the 95-98 4Runners, but nothing for the newer models.

I have reached out to Koyo with no luck. Gonna try mishimoto next.
 
Champion makes an all aluminum radiator (CC1998) for the 3rd Gen 4Runner. When it comes time to replace mine this is what I am using. I know that OEM (Denso or Koyo for radiators) is usually best, but aluminum is better than plastic when it comes to radiators.
 
I just installed one of these in my 4Runner. I'd post pics, but Photobucket is lame.

Aluminum Radiator

It's a 3 row radiator and it's significantly thicker than stock. Took slight modification to make fit. I had to oval out the mounting holes in the core support. Fan shroud bolts on fine.

I have a scan gauge that I display water temp on constantly. Since install I haven't seen the temp go above 190. Thermostat opens at 180(edit).

It's the Champion one (CC1998) that SURF RUNNER mentioned above.

Thermostat opens at 82*C/180*F. That's water INTO the engine, the outlet is generally ~10*F hotter if everything is working correctly - which it is for your engine! When you work the engine really hard, the coolant will go up slightly in temp, coasting it should go down slightly. The factory temperature sensor is on the water outlet.

How are the fitting at the transmission cooler inlet and outlet? Solid? not crappy pressed in stuff?

Trans cooler fittings are welded on threaded fittings. There is then a flared tube with a nut that screws onto the fitting in order to attach a hose. Seems good quality, but mine are capped because I run an external trans cooler.

So what were the coolant temps before installing the aluminum radiator?
 
Nothing crazy. Average probably around 190-193. Maybe probably up to 195-196 a couple times. I've had the aluminum one installed for about a month and with the July heat in NC I've been impressed that I haven't seen it over 190 at all. It is much larger and takes quite a bit of coolant, so it makes sense.

Very nice:thumb: The fan shroud encompasses the fan more now as well, helping to push more air across the radiator.

I installed a larger radiator in both my Bronco and Bronco II. Helped keep the temps to at least eight degrees cooler than before. I actually had to zip tie the shroud to the radiator support bracket for the II.
 
I know this is an old thread... but are this radiators straight forward when it comes with the install?
