I inquired about some bolts from the local Lexus dealer. 11 bolts were $46.

Had a friend order them through a connection- ~$10.

Yep, been told that by a manager. Have also been told by guys at both local Toyota dealers that the Parts dept basically carries the rest of the dealership. They say service and sales break even and parts makes the money. Not sure what to believe, but I get my parts from Toyota Dallas.

Parts and service does make the most money at any dealer. Car sales they expect to break even on. Another reason never to pay above invoice on a new car
