First let me say I read Kmvreter's thread and decided I needed to do this mod. However, I don't like the idea of my mirror/compass also being powered all the time.
I have the ashtray kit and want to make the aux outlet "on" all the time. So I thought I would find the pos wire to this outlet, cut it and splice a longer wire to it and run it directly to the fuse box.
Is there a "hot" connection at the fuse box? Anyone know?
I would also have to probably add an in-line fuse, but how do I know if the fuse should be a 10a, 15a, or 20a?
Not very savvy as far as electrical stuff goes.
Would this even be the best way to go about this?
