Am I asking too much?

Hi, I want to throw out a question to the group. I am trying to sell my 2003 4runner v6 limited 4wd with 58 thousand miles. I am asking $13,750 for it and am wondering if I'm crazy or unrealistic for asking that much. I am the original owner and have a clean title and people just laugh at me. All opinions are appreciated, thanks

It's a 10 year old truck, even in original condition with low miles I wouldn't even look at it with that price. Sorry, it's priced too high IMHO. Have you looked around at competitive prices on Craigslist in your area?

I did the research in CL and eBay and theres nothing close to it in the mileage factor. There are 2005's with over 100k going for $12 or higher.

when I was searching for mine, I was finding 03-05 in the 10k-14k range. usually about 12k for 100kmiles '03

That's a great price in my opinion! I purchased my '05 with 22k on the clock for $19,999 out the door! Couldn't be happier with price and what it is...keep at it! Toyota's in worse shape and more miles always sell for more...GLWS!!

Think thats a great price, but also look in the classifieds as I think someone just posted they wanted to purchase a specific Runner and I think you fit most of the specifications

I paid $12,500 for my 03 Ltd 4x right at a year ago with 115k...I would have paid what your asking for that mileage in a heartbeat based on what I saw for sale at that time.

I honestly think $12k would be a fair price depending on how clean it is with rust and everything. I just paid $12,000 for my 2004 V8 with $128k, but that was from a VERY reputable Toyota dealer that won't sell a used car unless it's perfect. It's also the cleanest 9 year old car I've seen in my area, all the other ones are suffering from rust.

Are you looking to trade in? That might be the route to go. Dealerships love Toyota's

If you're serious about selling it, sell it right before winter time and you'll get significantly more money for it. I bought my 2003 V8 Limited with 100K miles for $9.5K as a point of reference, but it was recent (beginning of summer).

Ok so the topic of rust keeps coming up now and being that I am in the northeast there is bound to be some under carriage rust but how much is too much? That last two folks that looked at it said that the under carriage is rustier than "they" expected for the year and mileage. I had the truck inspected by a well known Toyota dealer for someone this past December and rust never came up. There is not one spot of rust on the exterior of the truck because it is garaged year round and has been since I purchased it new. I can email pictures of the under carriage as I would love some opinions. Thanks again all.

You can post pictures on here. Too much for mr would be having the whole underside coated with rust, whether it be surface or deeper.

that's a good price. Just bought mine 2 months ago, 2006, V8, 94k miles. 15k

Like others have said, it also depends on your market, too.
