Am I asking too much?

agreed^
There is a cult following for 4runners period not just 4th gens. There are people willing to spend more and getting less for their money.
Good luck if you decide to sell.

Round here ,dealers can't keep them on the lot for more than a day. I think I'ts a fair price. Or maybe let them talk you down just a bit.

Ok so I listed it on eBay and so far there 42 watchers with over a day left and I listed it on a classified basis with a price of $13,750. People are will to fly from Chicago or have it shipped to Cali so I definitely think my inability to sell it previously was a market issue. Here is a link if anyone wants to see it. Thanks for all the comments and opinions.

Toyota : 4Runner Limited in Toyota | eBay Motors

people would rather buy a newer vehicle with more mileage

Not me, insurance is cheaper on the older one. I would much rather have the older, if the body style is still current. Or at least in this case a gen 4. My issue with it would be rust since its a northern vehicle.

But I really don't think it's priced too too high, maybe 12500ish if it were in my area.

I think it is a premium price. It is premium becuase of the miles. I wouldn't pay a premium for low miles on a toyota. If it was aDodge maybe I'd feel the need for low miles and pay extra.

I just got an 04 V8 SR5 with 102k for $8800, all it needs was tires.

This is like a Jalopnik.com Nice Price or Crack Pipe.... I vote Nice Price. Thats amazingly low miles. Not sure what the market is back there, but you'd sell that in a second here in Minnesota. As long as there was no or very minimal underbody rust, and no dents or scratches. Get that thing detailed and throw it up on Ebay.

Dang.... I just paid that for an 04 v6 LImited with 181k on the clock. And that was a good price as I've been looking for a year for a reasonably priced 4runner. Minnesota prices are nuts for rust free rigs. Mine did come with new tires though.

You also got leather, sunroof and a bunch of other gadgets my SR5 doesn't.
And I don't know if v6 or v8 have much of a price difference either.

I ripped the wheels and tires off my Tacoma so it didn't cost me 'cash money' except that I sold the Tacoma for a little less than I would have. But I made out like a bandit on the 06 Tacoma anyways so a little less didn't hurt.
I'm always on the look out for a good deal and always willing to swap rides out for something different if it make sense moneywise.

Maybe I should ship this baby up your way and sell it :wink2:

Everything but the sunroof. Even with the high miles, it's extrememly clean. no dents. Paint shines like new. Full service records from the dealership. And it did come from Seattle, and has very minimal underbody rust.

Good job not buying in Duluth, I bought a few cars there, all of them were 1994-1997 and this was back in 2011 so they were 13-15 years old. RUST BUCKETS! Once was so bad, when I tried to gas it up, it poured out of the fill pipe. I had to remove the seat and get to the pump to fill it. hahahahha!

Did you live here? Or why did you ever buy a car here? lol
My 4 runner spent the last year and a half here, but was obviously cleaned a lot.

I've personally never been west of the Mississippi, but I buy cars all over the country for export. Mainly Toyota and Lexus. That was when I was buying raggedy Corollas from the mid-nineties.
