Dealer will sell 500 over dealer invoice, but they have all these other fees, such Southern California Advertising Association, lot inventory financing fee, etc, etc. Total fees $850, plus $500 over factory invoice. Any experience with this.

What is the MSRP and what is the sale price? Who knows what fake invoice they showed you.

By the way your not getting if for 500 over invoice if your actually paying 1350 over....

Yes you are. Ask them nicely to see a copy of the invoice. Find that bottom dollar and tell them since there aren't a lot of 4Runners out them you will give them $250 over that number. If they don't agree walk out. Simple.

I bought many cars but never had to pay those fee. I live in So. Cal. Those fees are bogus.

I'm working on getting the deal done as well... and I'm getting 200 under invoice... plus about 800-1000 of fees as well. I just don't get it. Yeah, I get the doc fee charge... but a car broker told me that TDA fees are bogus. On a $42,000 vehicle - that grand pushes the payments to a less than fun place.

As said, ask to see the invoice - it will have Toyota logo on it - and not all those fees. I'm betting they have a 'fake' invoice.

The real Invoice is what the dlr pays Toyota, and does not include those fees.

My SR5 was MSRP $36,304.00 and I paid $33,506.00 (+TTL) - if that helps you any.

You gotta be prepared to walk...

When I mentioned Dealer Invoice and Factory Invoice, I meant the same thing.

If you haven't done this already, I suggest you go to Edmunds.com and figure the invoice pricing with the options that are on the car you are buying. My guess is that the Edmunds invoice price is about $850 more than the invoice the toyota dealer gave you before the advertising fees of approx $850. Hence Edmunds already has these fees in their invoice pricing.

Regarding the $500 over invoice, I think that is a fair price and is exactly what I got. I did get them to put $500 more in my trade than what kbb shows, so I netted invoice on the car. As someone mentioned earlier, you could offer $250 over and see what happens. If you walk and they don't call you back, then you know their botton line. I personally wouldn't let $250 get in the way of buying the car especially if you like the salesman/dealership experience you got during the process.
