Am i re****ed? wiper question...

So in this great state of iowa we got some snow/ice over night. So i tured my wipers on they were ofcourse frozen...

Well now my intermidant (excuse my poor spelling) is just off, as in nothing happens. and my wipers dont retract when i shut them off they just stop where ever they on when i got to off or int. is this a "winter" feature? and how do i turn it off if so...

Just a wild guess but I'd pull any fuse that looked like it had to do with wipers and see if a power interuption will reset it. Good luck

Anyways, i pulled the fuse with the car off, and with it on. nothing changed...

Bump and update

This is getting more frustrating by the day.

Now my rear defrost does not turn on, and my rear wiper and mister also does not work...

I pulled every fuse i could think that may be linked to this, inspected and put back in. Disconnected the battery for an hour to ensure energy loss. No change.

Is there anyone that has experienced these problems?

I'm thinking that the problems in the rear are not related to the front wiper problem. Non of that rear window stuff works unless your rear window is all the way up so I would look there first. As for the front wiper problem what you are experiencing is definitely NOT a feature. My guess is that something in the wiper switch let go (a transistor or resister ) trying to move the frozen wipers. As I understand it you still have front wiper function but no intermittent and they will not park.

Exactly, they dont turn on if i use the washer either it just squirts water all over my windshield. It's really becoming bothersom even more so because i havent had the damn thing a month...

I've found stuff searching on google but no one really has an awnswer just 100 diffrent things it "might" be. I know what im doing around a motor electrical stuff is not my specialty, going to try and get my hands on an OHM meter this weekend...

The washer function is also linked to the intermittent setting which is why I think it's in the wiper switch.

If you disconnected the battery you need to reset drivers window, sunroof and rear window. Just roll the windows down and then back up and hold the button for a few seconds in the up position, same for sunroof. This should get the rear window functions back.

Back from the dead...

I'm having the exact same problem as the OP. Turned on the wipers with snow/ice covering them, they were stuck, so I turned them off. Now that the snow/ice is cleared the intermittent position does nothing but low and high still work fine except for the parking of the blades when I shut them off. I would like to know if the OP ever fixed his problem and what that fix was. Thanks.

maybe you just need to replace one of the two fuse on the schematic. it should fix the problem... if the circuit is designed correctly, the fuse should die before any of the fets or diodes die.

Awesome post drmorbius! I disconnected my battery a few days ago and my rear wiper, mister, and defrost haven't been working since. Just fixed both by rolling the window down then up and holding it for a second. Thanks!
