Am I supposed to have a bushing here?

Just got the Marlin Crawler shift seat bushings one red one for my trans and the blue for my transfer. However the blue will not fit in the transfer case and it already has the socket for the ball end of the shifter.

Does my transfer case not require one?

W56 with forward mount shifter on transfer case

Did you take out allready the old shifter bushing,it looks like it still there? Here is the original bushing,new vs old... clean the hole in transfer good aswell. and have some grease on the new bushing.

There was nothing in it when i took it apart i assumed it was completely disintegrated like my pickup was. Thats actually metal that looks like a bushing inside the shifter seat. After more research I think i got confused with the whole top shift vs forward shift transfer case. Pretty sure i have a top shift now.

EDIT: Sounds like you got it figured out.

Blue should be for a forward shift case or top shift chain drive case.

Yours looks like a top shift gear drive, they dont use them.
