AM2 Relay

What is this relay for? Mine looked like burnt out.

The AM2 relay controls circuitry that runs the engine.

What could be the most common culprit for this relay to bad? I installed new battery today and fired right up strong, but few hours later the truck has no cranking power to turn the motor over. Can that be an alternator? Can the AM2 Relay be responsible for that? What else can go wrong with a bad relay?

Do pepboys or auto zone carry this relay? I called them up and they have no clue.
